Q: Why can't I right-click the barrel (chest)?
A:
- Free version: The barrel should open as a normal container. If nothing happens, check that the farm was created correctly.
- Premium version: Make sure premium.gui_chest: true is set in config.yml. Only the farm owner or players with mypets.admin permission can open the premium GUI chest.
Q: My sealed egg lost its attributes after releasing!
A: Make sure you are using Paper 1.20.4 or higher. Also check that no other plugins are modifying entity attributes, which could conflict with MyPets.
Q: Leash teleport isn't working?
A: Check that premium.leash_teleport: true in config.yml. Also make sure you are the one who leashed the animal. The free version can only carry 1 leashed animal when teleporting.
Q: Can my pet respawn after death?
A: Only if the pet is bound to a farm. Bound pets respawn at the farm 60 seconds after death. Pets without a farm binding die permanently. We recommend creating a farm before taming pets!
Q: How do I reset all data?
A: Delete the plugins/MyPets/data/ folder and restart the server. Warning: This will delete ALL pet and farm data permanently.
Q: What's the difference between free and premium?
A: See the home page for a comparison table. Premium unlocks pet sealing, farm permission flags, the 54-slot chest GUI, multi-pet leash teleport, and more.
Q: Which Minecraft versions are supported?
A: 1.20.4 ~ 1.21.x. We recommend Paper or Purpur server software. JDK 21 is required.
Q: Can I disable the plugin in certain worlds?
A: Yes! Use the world whitelist feature. Manage it with /mp world commands. When enabled, the plugin only works in whitelisted worlds.
Q: How many farms can I have?
A: The free version allows 1 farm. The premium version allows up to 3 farms (configurable in config.yml).
Q: My pet count exceeds the limit, what happens?
A: When a farm reaches its pet limit, new pets are automatically converted to sealed eggs and stored in the farm's chest. Just take out the egg and right-click to release it later.
